a split-level garage with spinning, glowing and otherwise animated carved
bowling balls instead of wheelbarrow and gas grill; with skulls mounted
on mechanical torsos instead of broken lawnchairs; replace all of the
ordinary things with extraordinary things, then throw in the tools of
Allen's trade: welder, grinder, drill press, ventriloquist dummy and boxes
of prosthetic eyes, squirrel spines, artwork collected and made over the
years and you might have a decent idea of what Allen's world is all about.
